Another hard week with chemo. Slept a couple of days away. Went to the orthopedist on March 14, saw the Physician Assistant. He showed my MRI, CT, and Xray to the doc. Agreed, no fracture in my hip. Didn't want to treat, though, due to cancer. Referred me to a musculoskeletal oncologist for consult to determine if the lesion they see in the socket of my hip is active or treated. After MUCH back and forth between offices, I finally got a call TODAY from that office with an appointment. I will go on April 12 at 8:15 am. Those of you who know me well are probably laughing at that time. I'm a night owl extraordinaire. That's sooooo early! But I'll be there. On top of that, our insurance changes on April 1. Not to BCBS NC, no, to BCBS Anthem out of Virginia. Lovely. The Nurse Practitioner at the infusion clinic, the specialist, my Primary Care Doc, my physical therapist, the PA, both Atrium and Novant hospitals closest to me, and even the Urgent Care I usually go to are in-network. Who isn't? The website doesn't show my ONCOLOGIST! I called his office today and got the person who handles pre-authorization because I am scheduled for an infusion on Tuesday and our old insurance required pre-auth. But nothing can even start until Friday, when I'm officially covered. She'll have to see if their provider list is simply out of date, or if my oncologist truly isn't covered. I also have to wait until Friday to figure out if my RX's are covered and there are a heck of a lot of them. This is all just for me. Trying to get the kid in with a new provider, haven't even looked for her PCP, and she has an ongoing RX, too. I'd really love to have one of those sticky toys to throw against the wall. Or go axe throwing. Or glass throwing. Or have a throw down. Maybe all of the above.
Some good news: I got the pattern for medical dolls from Atrium. They look like gingerbread people. I also bought a ton of fabric in different skin tone colors. I can get 4 dolls from 1 yard. I already have a batch of 4 done, and I'm close to finishing the 2nd batch. They're really easy- just cut out and sew up!

Having fun with these! Reading a lot and writing again, too. Even got asked by someone to write a story for them. I didn't advertise that, they just contacted me out of the blue after seeing one of my stories. So much going on. Hope you are having a lovely spring!
